One of the recent major advances in recent times in dental technology has been the ability to access new and improved imaging to help diagnose and plan complex treatments. At Sharrow Dental we have a state-of-the-art imaging suite that includes Panoral and CBCT capacity.

Panoral

The Sirona Orthophos SL 3D provides unparalleled image quality with the lowest radiation doses. For clinicians in need of DPT images, please send details of your patients via the link below.

After your patient attends, we will load the images securely on to a CD and share with your clinic for just £50.

CBCT

Sharrow Dental patients benefit from access to a state-of-the-art Sirona Orthophos SL 3D DPT and CBCT scanning unit.

We are accepting referrals from other practices for image requests for the following indications:

  • Implant treatment planning;

  • Orthodontic treatment planning;
  • Mandibular third molars and impactions.

As part of the service we can load CBCT images on to a CD that we will share securely with your clinic for just £95. Alternatively, we can liaise with a qualified radiologist to provide images and expert reporting at a cost of £200.

FAQS

My face is swollen. What should I do?

If you have facial swelling, this could indicate that you have an infection. You will need to see a dentist as you may need some antibiotics to relieve the symptoms of this infection.

If you are in the UK and do not have a regular dentist, you can find the details of the nearest emergency dentist by contacting the NHS 111 service.

In the UK, dentistry is one of the few National Health Service (NHS) services where you have to pay a contribution towards the cost of your care. This means that there are now three standard charges for the NHS for dental treatment. This will help to make the NHS system easier and more accessible for patients.

There is one charge for a course of treatment under the NHS, the cost will vary depending on what dental treatment you require. Currently these charges are:

  • Band 1 (£22.70):
    • Emergency appointments to get you out of pain;
    • Check-up (examination and diagnosis including x-rays as well as a simple scale and polish where clinically indicated)
  • Band 2 (£62.10):
    • Fillings, periodontal treatments, root canal treatments, extractions and other care;
    • Covers everything listed in band 1
  • Band 3 (£269.30):
    • Complex dental treatment involving construction of laboratory-made appliances such as dentures, crowns and splints;
    • Covers everything listed in bands 1 and 2

Please note that this information has been taken from the Department of Health and the information is provided as a guideline only. Your dentist will assess your individual needs to see if you fit the criteria for the above treatments.

 We appreciate that this must look unnecessary, but it is an NHS England requirement. In the event that your personal details, financial circumstances (with respect to payment exemptions) or medical history have changed in the intervening period, we need to keep this updated.

We appreciate that there is only limited onsite parking at the practice. We have recently invested in staff parking elsewhere to free up some spaces for patients of the practice. Alternatively, street parking is available with some exclusions that apply locally between 9am – 11am.

Sorry it has taken me this long to write a review but I just want to thank Ian so much for my teeth. I had a brace put on and I was quite nervous throughout the whole procedure as I don’t feel totally comfortable whenever I go to the dentist, however Ian was always so professional and confident that I knew I was in safe hands. He is also very honest so you know what result you can achieve and what you can’t which I think is really important. I am so pleased with my teeth now the brace is off and I would 100% recommend!! thank you Ian & Sharrow.

Sharrow has been very warm and welcoming – good services all round. Mr Clough has been very meticulous in his treatment – very patient. Taking his time with everything he has done. I have recommended several people to his clinic and I hope they take my advice. Happy and comfortable with the service and my mouth is back to normal! So far so good! Thank you

Having had bad experiences in my early life , I’m so glad I found them and can only deduce that they only take on dentist who are a. fantastic at their job, b. very empathetic to those who have had bad experiences.
